History

Kuna was ordered in July 2006 from Trader in Emsworth and promised for delivery in September 2007.  The boat was to be built in Taiwan but , after a catalogue of excuses, it was finally started in December 2007. I subsequently learned that none of my deposit (£430,000!) had been passed to the yard and in June 2009 Trader went bust.  Between December 2008 and May 2009 I had to negotiate directly with Taiwan, as Trader had clearly run out of money, and the boat was finally shipped, all at my expense, on 7 April 2009. You really don't want to know how much it all cost!!
In the beginning...
What a mess!
Nearly done!
The last couple of seasons have been spent cruising around Mallorca but I've always fancied making a 'big trip' and settled on Croatia.  Everything was set until Jayne was invited to her cousin's wedding in Kefalonia so we decided to make a slight 'detour' and go by boat!

Martin Vaughan has a strange and inexplicable fascination with engines and likes 'fixing things'.  Now this is handy because I haven't a bloody clue about anything mechanical!  We took my old boat to France in 2005 and to Mallorca in 2007 and we made the trip together on Kuna from Southampton to Mallorca.  Luckily, we don't fall out because I think he just accepts that I'm a tosser and takes it in his stride!  The brandy he always bring with us helps a bit too!
