Hi folks!
‘Just a baby blog today to let you know that we arrived safely in Corfu around 1.30pm, yesterday.
Corfu Town |
It's a beautiful old town |
You should go! |
Gouvia marina is not so nice but it's big, with great facilities |
Yes, we did manage to retrieve the anchor bit by bit and Mr. V now has the motor in bits on the aft deck. He’s good in’t he? You can see from the photo that one of the four brushes was not in contact with the commutator due to a sticking spring and I’m sure it’s quite clear to you all that this would cause the motor to run with less power, less speed and of course, the motor would overheat. But you knew all that, didn’t you? Yeh, right! So it’s a new motor when we return next month.
We’re back home on Saturday for a couple of weeks and then the three musketeers (Mart, Russ & Me) will be off on the final leg to Montenegro and Croatia.
So it’s bye-bye from all of us and we’ll see you again on 22 July!
Corfu looks nice. I think I have been there before.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how you are going to get a new motor in your hand baggage as well as the €4 billion we will each be expected to bring with us (especially for you Alan). I think the charming Mr O'Leary will have something to say about that!
See you all soon
Athos
Well done guys (and gals) the major part of your trip is done.
ReplyDeleteRussell is right, the greeks need the money but I'm not sure 4 billion is enough. mr O'Leary is bound to surcharge for excess money - probably a percentage. Now what the greeks really need is our software (debt collection) to recover all the missing taxes! It wouldn't cost anything like 4 billion (but it would of course have to be a lot!). Just contact Fathom Technologies Limited - End of plug.
See you over the weekend - get practising, 70's music night now freed up for any genre and age and delayed for one week to July 23rd.
