Lixouri

Niether arriving, nor leaving!

Just another little ‘bloggette’ to let you know that we’re still here in Lixouri – so that’s five days for me and three for Martin V, after his 11 hours a night sleep!  And while I’m thinking about it, does anyone know where the word blog comes from? (no, don’t Google it , that’s cheating!).  A prize for the best answer.  And by the way, the prize for the song competition (thank Christ Jayne won!) was a two-week cruise round the Greek islands.

Well, the girls are here now, ready for their, er.. two-week cruise round the Greek islands, and it’s great to have ‘em aboard.  And before you ask, yes, the boat was spotless when they arrived!  Martin did it all as I seemed to have suddenly developed a bad back.  Such bloody bad luck!  I was gutted!

So, we have the wedding on Saturday and then we’re off!!  We’ve met a few of Lynsey’s family and they all seem a great bunch, so the stag do tonight should be a good ‘un. (No chance of me writing anything tomorrow then…)

Just note the ‘present’ that I bought Jayne on the table. I’m good like that…  And that little cup next to it is what Jayne bought me.  Apparently, you put your Persil liquid in it and then you can put it straight in the washing machine.  Brilliant isn’t it!  She’s good like that...  She also brought a present for Martin V – some cable ties.  He’s sooo thrilled!

So that’s it!  No police, coastguard, or navy intervention, no breakdowns or explosions, just lots of great food, sun and….. beer!

  1. On the off-chance that the next prize is a two week cruise (sorry, delivery) through the Dalmatian Islands off the coast of Croatia, my winning answer is: is it when you, er..."log" on whilst on the bog, otherwise known as "blogging"?

  2. Sorry to be so boring but as a computer man of some advanced years (although not if you want one fixing) I believe that it is short for web log. Although quite why I don't know. It must have originated in the US of A and you know how good thay are at making up words. By the way did you know that TLA is a three letter acronym?

I'd much rather defer to Russell's definition although I personally have never logged on in the loo.

It's good to see you now have a calming influence in the crew and also to here that you are consuming beer. Have you upped your usual 2 pint intake especially for the holiday you are now enjoying?

Well it's down to the pub on Friday as usual to partake in Hooky - someone has to do it in your absence. John is organising an open mic night I think on 16th July. You should be back for that. Theme is 70s music so get practising!

  4. Blog??? Bloody lying old git! There is no prize. Again. Jayne's was a "fix". When Russ was talking about a log in the bog, I thought .....wow!....that must be one hell of a straining session! Strewth Russ, wotcha been eating? Straw mattresses?

Lixouri. Now that's a name to conjure with. I wouldn't mind offering a prize for some inventive take on that. I mean everyone should know that "ouri" is Greek for .....er.....well I can't actually recall at the moment, but it's def got four letters in it.

So you made it then. Dunno what all the fuss was about. That big blue circle following you was sky! Obviously you're colour blind. Blue means clear sky, Lemony yellow is sunny, orange is for sunsets, and green is for the grass you've just run aground on. All us pirate types know this.(don't we Brom?) There's an acronym for it. 5. ...ouri? Where you thinking perhaps of preceding this with potp?

And as for your last offering, did you mean ROYGBIV? Unfortunately "lemony" is not a recognised colour of the spectrum so that ain't going to work!!
