Teulada

What a weird place this is!  A new marina in the middle of nowhere with no bar, restaurant or facilities – and the nearest town (Teulada, surprisingly) is five miles away.

Anyway before we get on to that - a bit about the journey.

Well, we left Carloforte (we like it now) and here’s a picture to prove it.

Saw lots more whales!

Now then, we knew that the Cap de Teulada was a military area and we knew that there was a five mile exclusion zone round it but we couldn’t be arsed to go round as it would have added three hours to our four-hour journey. So we cut across it.  We did really well, and were halfway across before we saw a military launch screaming towards us.  We slowed down, Martin hid all the guns & stuff, and we tried to look innocent.  Those loud hailers really are bloody LOUD!
The upshot was that we had to head five miles out immediately, but when they were out of sight we cut the corner off and headed straight for Teulada (tee-hee).
As soon as he's out of sight.....

It’s not fair!  We’ve been put on an outside wall.  It’s as though Kuna has some strange infectious disease that’s gonna infect all the other boats.  Probably osmosis or something.  Anyway, she’s feeling very lonely, bless her!

The marina’s in a very pretty area and we’re enjoying the scenery.  And the only crisis we have at the moment is that we’ve run out of cognac.  Life’s tough!

Off tomorrow, we hope, at 0600 (if Martin’s up) and should arrive in Palermo around 1300 Saturday.  If this bloody wind stops.

PS. Did this in word and, if we find a wi-fi connection in the town this evening, and are willing to pay the €20 taxi fare, I’ll copy and paste it in.  But it may look a bit strange….

  4. Looks like that worked then!! Try again. I hear John Craddock is in Alcudia with Linda? First I knew of that and hope the missus doesn't find out. Predictably this voyage is turning out like a Rick Stein food odyssey. Food, food, and more food. Apart from a skirmish with the pirates in a coastguard boat. That bit was good. Did you catch and eat one of those whales which are dolphins? V good curried I'm told. A dolphin bhuna on kuna beats a pathia on puree......
